Light Energy III is my third human powered aircraft designed to win the challenging international Marathon Kremer Competition. The competition has been open for competitors for approximately 20 years and by this fact it is a well known secret that it is a very difficult endeavor. To actually fly an aircraft, at a cruise speed of 45 km/h, for approximately 1 hour on power generated only by a human call for the best in human technologies.

The specification set forth in the Marathon Kremer competition formed the foundation for my graduating project – Light Energy I -to my bachelor degree in mechanical engineering back in 1989. During the past 18 years I have worked  on a number of designs for the aircraft utilizing all aspects of 3D technology such as  CFD, motion analysis, animation, photo realistic rendering and FEM.
